There’s nothing better than a light flirtation with warm temperatures to jump start my seasonal planning. If you hadn’t figured out yet I’m back at home in New Zealand for the summer (and my third in a row) and I can definitely say it’s been an adjustment after many days that set at 4:30pm and just missing London’s first snow. More on this move later. For now, here’s a page full of summer vibes for you all lucky enough to live in the Southern Hemisphere right now.

 

The Playlist

Maya Stepper

There’s nothing like having a fresh playlist to welcome you to the new season. I love to have one playing on repeat, the backdrop to your memories – while you make ice cold drinks, spend time with friends or while on one of those long sunset hikes. Listening to old playlists will forever be one of my favourite things to do when I’m feeling a little nostalgic. They always transport me back to a time and place and remind me of exactly how I felt. I’ve been loving Soundcloud lately and if you like what you hear you can always follow me for more playlists. I’m going to try to continue to update it on the regular.

The Outfit

My summer staples will always include some kind of denim – shorts, skirt or jeans. You can never regret a denim purchase in my opinion because they’re pieces that you can wear for years and never get sick of. A classic Levi 501 cut off or a pair of super distressed black shorts are my top choices this season paired with white sneakers, of course. The Food

 

Smoothie Bowl:

  • 1/2 cup plain, non fat yogurt
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries or 2x acai packets
  • 1 banana

Toppings Ideas:

  • Chia Seeds
  • Toasted Seeds & Nuts

My long time love The NutriBullet is also a long time summer staple. The best this about summer is I always have an abundance of berries and bananas hanging around the house, which make the perfect smoothie base along with a dash of soy milk. The recipe above is the best way to start your day and with the Nutri Bullet it literally takes me 10 minutes to make. If you’ve been on the fence about buying a NutriBullet DO IT! Literally everyone in my family owns one (bit overkill, haha) and they all love it so no matter what you’re in to it’s a great idea, or Christmas gift.
