So new year, new food or however the saying goes, right? At the start of Summer I got myself a Nutribullet after debating the decision for months and it’s become the most used kitchen equipment in the house. Bascially my flatmates and I use it for almost everything, but mostly my favourite lazy (but oh so good) breakfast on the weekend. What I’m talking about is the classic “healthy gal” go to – the Acai Bowl. I used to make this years ago at uni but completely forgot about it until my recent trip to Sydney. I feel like fashion and food have become quite the pair in the world of social media so I thought it would be only right to share with you my recipe for the best looking and tasting Acai Bowl.
- 2 Packets of frozen Acai berries
- 1 Banana
- 1/2 cup of Strawberries (or whichever berries you prefer)
- 1/2 cup Almond Milk (or whatever milk you prefer)
- 1/2 cup of Granola
- 1/2 Banana
- 1/3 cup Coconut Flakes
- Drizzle of Honey
Add all the bowl ingredients into the Nutribullet until blended and pour into your chosen bowl. Add toppings as desired and voila! Honestly, it’s the easiest breakfast or snack to make when you’re in a hurry and it’s equally nutritious. Also, for those of you in NZ wondering where to buy the Acai berry packets and granola, hit up your local Commonsense Organics – that’s where I got the ingredients from.
