Is The Currentbody LED Light Therapy Face Mask worth buying? LED masks have grown increasingly popular amongst the beauty industry, and when it comes to investing in a big ticket item like this, it’s hard to know whether or not its worth your while.
To give you a bit of backstory – I’m a long time lover of light therapy treatments. When I was in high school my acne continued to get worse so I bit the bullet and went to see a Dermatologist who recommended I get light therapy treatments. They were expensive (over $100 each session) but I loved the results – my skin cleared up and looked brighter than ever. I don’t think I’ve ever had as many compliments on my skin as I got back then. That’s why I was excited to get the chance to review The Currentbody LED Mask.
How Does The Currentbody LED Mask Work?

As the skin ages, the natural process of cell replication and collagen production begins to slow down and eventually deplete. This process is further accelerated by environmental factors like smoking, unprotected sun exposure, and poor diet. So basically, living. However, there is so many ways to counteract this – including light therapy. Infrared light therapy has been clinically proven to stimulate cell renewal, boost circulation, and increase oxygenation of skin cells. This powerful treatment combats the natural aging process, promoting fresher, more youthful-looking skin that’s healthier from the inside out. Infrared light can over time help you to achieve more radiant, vibrant skin that glows. The CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask combines red (633nm) and near-infrared (830nm) light wavelengths to create the perfect environment for kickstarting our skin’s collagen production. The red light (633nm) penetrates the skin at a shallower depth, helping to reduce inflammation and promoting circulation. This wavelength is also known to aid in healing acne and reduce the appearance of wrinkles for a more youthful appearance.
In addition to this, the near-infrared light (830nm) penetrates deeper into the skin’s layers, promoting cell regeneration and increased collagen production. This process helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more radiant-looking skin.
How Do You Use The Currentbody LED Mask?
What I love most about this is that it’s so easy to use. It’s fully rechargeable so it’s a tool that you can continue to use for years. All you need to do is wash your face like normal, then pop the mask on. Once you turn it on, the device will automatically turn itself off after 10 minutes – so there’s no danger of forgetting to turn it off. After use, just wipe it clean and store for your next treatment. You can continue on with your serums and moisturisers after that.
Is The Currentbody LED Mask Worth It?

So I was kindly gifted this mask quite a few months ago now, so I’ve had a while to see whether it’s worth the investment. At the time, I had been struggling to care for my skin as we transitioned from a very humid summer to a dry autumn which caused more than one eczema flare up, dryness and acne breakouts. On top of this, I was under a lot of stress. Naturally, the first thing I let slide was my skincare routine because I had no idea what worked for my skin anymore. It felt a little bit like a losing battle – even for me, who owns a stupid amount of skincare. It was dry, it was dull and I was at a loss.
The hard thing about caring for your skin is that is can be a bit of a guessing game. I thought it was my diet so I started there. When that didn’t work, I added new products to my skincare routine and still didn’t get far. In the end, I decided to cut everything right back and that’s when I first started my journey with the Currentbody LED Mask.
I think one of the nicest things that has come from using The Currentbody LED Mask regularly is that it has forced me to take some time out of my day for myself. Something that at the time, I wasn’t doing at all. Similar to a ritual, I light a candle, perform my evening skincare routine, and end it with a serene ten minutes of light therapy while I read my book. The perfect way to shut off from the world and prepare yourself for a good sleep.

In terms of results, I have actually seen a huge improvement – far beyond what I had expected. The biggest difference I have seen is that I don’t get the sporadic break outs I became so used to. Before, my skin was frustratingly unpredictable and I had grown accustomed to experiencing random blemishes. When I got stressed, when I had my period, whenever. But now, for the first time, I’m experiencing a newfound level of consistency. Even when I do have some breakouts now, they clear up quicker than ever before.
The second biggest difference is my skin health. I mentioned before that my skin had been unusually dry. I had been trying all sorts of products to try and help with this, but nothing seemed to help. Now, my skin really gets that ‘beauty editor’ type of glow.
I put this down to the combination of using the Currentbody LED Mask and taking the time to choose better skincare afterwards. They do say you can apply the CurrentBody Skin Green Tea Serum (which was included in my pack) before applying the mask to supercharge your results. I like to apply this when I need to calm inflammation as it contains a blend of peptides and Vitamin C which supports a healthy skin barrier. It also contains 3-in-1 triple hyaluronic acid for hydration and pineapple extract to exfoliate and brighten. Basically, all the good things you want when caring for your skin.
I should mention that I actually lost my charging cable at one stage and it didn’t take me long before I was missing it. That’s when you know, it’s a winner.

So it is worth the investment? Absolutely – and I don’t say that lightly. Overall, if you want to care for your skin better light therapy is a great start. The Currentbody LED Mask is a small price to pay up front for on-going skin benefits. Plus, it’s a nice way to end your evening skincare routine on a calming note – and that’s worth all the money in the world (in my opinion).
