I promised myself that when I moved back to New Zealand I would start featuring more beauty on my blog. Despite the fact I haven’t dived into it much on my blog I’m actually a beauty and skin care fanatic. I could only take the essentials with me overseas since my luggage was always overweight. Now though, I’m straight back into it and overloading the make-up orders.
What better way to kick of the beauty segment on my blog than my daily makeup routine? This is the make up I reach for when I have 10 minutes to get out the door. It’s also what I wear on days I’m shooting for the blog. I like to keep it natural with a subtle lip and a healthy dose of bronzer. Depending on the outfit I’m shooting I’ll just change the lip out for a different colour.
You can tell that I’m in love with these products by the amount of wear and tear. Most of these came with me overseas and have held up well (except my highlighter, boo). None of them leak and that’s a huge plus for a traveller like me!
It might seem like a lot of products for a daily makeup routine but I have these down to a fine art. Plus, If you apply moisturizer and sunscreen together, then add foundation not long after it blends out in seconds. I have to mix foundations because I’m in-between colours at the moment and these two are the perfect combination. NARS Sheer Glow is light and dewy, while Lancome is a darker shade and glides on like a dream. I never thought I would enjoy using a stick foundation but now I want to be tanner so I can wear it while on the go.
I also love adding a quick swipe of Amber Lights on my lids if I’m in a hurry – it makes you look put together with minimal effort. This, along with Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara is the perfect daily combination when you’re in a hurry.
