As you’ve probably seen me mention, last week I worked in collaboration with Glassons to capture Dunedin’s street style as it was iD Fashion Week. Basically, I wandered the streets with the lovely Emily, taking photos of anyone with cool style wearing Glassons and everyone snapped went in the drawn to win one of two $500 vouchers. Since I hadn’t planned on doing much for this fashion week (because university has been kicking my ass) it was cool to see what people were wearing to celebrate the week. Besides from loving the clothes, it was great to work with a label that supports New Zealand talent – Glassons are currently working with Otago Polytechnic’s 3rd year fashion students to develop and pitch a fashion line and from there, one student will be picked to work with the Glassons team to develop some pieces to be sold in the stores. I think this is particularly amazing because I know from my stint in fashion school, competition can be brutal and there really aren’t many chances to get such a head start in the fashion industry.
