I had every intention of writing this much earlier in the day, but here we are again – Sunday evening, brought to you from my bed (I just woke up from a nap, as usual). Honestly, ever since I came back from visiting home last weekend my sleeping pattern has been a little crazy. Last night I woke up at 2am and didn’t get back to sleep until 5pm, so for once I feel like napping is okay. My insomnia can F right off and I’m not happy about it being back. Motivation levels are at an all time low but tonight I’m going to battle through. So let’s get into the highs and lows of my week shall we?
Highs:
This week has been busy on the freelancing front which I’m always grateful for – even if it means running home from my day job to meet deadlines or shooting at lunch times. Anything to keep me occupied in winter is a win.
If you don’t follow Sarcasm_Only on Instagram you’re really missing out. When I couldn’t sleep last night I pretty much scrolled through their feed for a solid hour – it’s literally mine and my friends sense of humour. So bloody funny and relatable.
So I don’t get anxiety very often but this week was pretty bad. It was completely my own fault though. I’ve got too much of my Mum’s genes in me (she was a triathlete). I forget that if I don’t exercise I go a little crazy. Anyway, I walked to Point Chevalier Beach which A. brings back so many good memories and B. has the sea breeze that I always crave. I miss living close to Bondi Beach. So yeah, would recommend if you’re getting restless in this shitty Auckland winter.
Music: Millions – Always Never, Away From Me – Moglii, Plot Twist – Marc E. Bassy & Kyle, Homemade – Matthew Chaim and a throwback to Movements – Pham & Yung Fusion
So I needed something easy to watch while editing images so of course I went back to re-watching Sex in the City. I feel like SITC and Friends will forever be my favourites. Oh also I watched some of 8 Simple Rules the other night and how good was it? The 1990’s/2000’s definitely was a better time for TV and movies.
I got a month’s worth of Vitally Vitamins sent to work this week and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s a subscription vitamin service that is tailored for you. Mine needs being Iron, Magnesium and Multivitamins. You just pull a packet out each day which so simple to remember. Plus, all the packaging has your name on it which I think it such a simple but effective way to make it more special.
I also was kindly gifted a HUGE print, framed by Papier HQ which is actually incredible and I can’t wait to hang it on my wall. Unfortunately I walked home on Friday so I had to leave it at work but I’ll definitely show you guys once it’s all set up in my room. It’s an print of New York my all time favourite city. Everyone in the office loved it so you know it’s a winner!
I bought this top from ASOS and had so many questions about it on Instagram after posting it on my story, so if you were curious to know you can shop it here – it’s relatively cheap!
Lows:
I mean honestly, how many times and I’m going to get myself into the same situation before I learn? I’ll probably do it again though lol.
Our washing machine broke so that sucks. Hand-washing underwear it is!
On that note, I seriously need to buy a whole new collection of lingerie because #adultlife. I’m going to write a whole post on this once I figure out where the hell I’m going to get it from because let’s be honest – New Zealand sucks for selection.
Anxiety triggers my insomnia which is a bloody cycle that I need to break. That or I need to get a better under eye concealer stat.
