How much do you love daylight savings this time of the year? I think this is the first week post winter where it actually feels warmer. It’s so good that the sun now sets long after I get home from work. I’ve taken full advantage of it by walking and running every night when I get home. So sorry for not having a mid-week post up too. My laptop broke the other day and it took the entire evening to get it working again – I was literally eating dinner at 10pm. Sometimes these things can’t be helped but I’m planning on being so much more organised this week don’t worry. Anyway, let’s get into my highs and lows of the week.
Highs:
- Like I said, I’ve been running/walking every night after work. My favourite so far is running to and around Herne Bay – my number one place in Auckland. The sunset over that way is super pretty too.
- On that note: hanging out with friends after work. From drinks to dinner it’s nice to feel like you have more time AKA when it’s not dark already. Can you tell this is my favourite time of the year?
- I tried First Table this week which is basically a website that lets you book in and get half prices meals. I KNOW, so good. If you haven’t heard of it do yourself a favour and check it out – it’s NZ and Aus wide. This isn’t even sponsored I just love it.
- I’ve had such a lazy Sunday and have been watching Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father on Netflix which is an easy watch and quite funny.
- This week I’ve discovered some very girly/light-hearted dating podcasts to get me through the boring parts of work. There’s only so much true crime I can listen to before I start freaking myself out. If you’re in for some tongue-on-cheek listening check out Why Won’t You Date Me? with Nicole Byer or 51 First Dates.
- I’m getting more into poke bowls and the Poké Bar on Ponsonby Road is pretty good, just saying.
- The new Whittaker’s x Tiptop salted maple ice cream is worth the $4.50
- My friend Kelsey gets a special mention this week because she’s just so easy all the time. Whether we just hang out and eat or if I ask her for help with my blog she’s there – no complaints. Also Caitlin on that note. I don’t know, sometimes I don’t know how I got lucky enough to have such cool people in my life. Yeah okay, I’m getting mushy in my old age haha.
- Greek Yogurt with honey and grapes is honestly the best dessert. I don’t know why but I crave it ALL the time lately.
- Getting excited at little things like I’m back in high school. I kind of miss how innocent it all was and how slow relationships would progress.
- Music: Lips – Noah Slee, Malibu Feels – Johnny Yukon, Nite Life – Jahsh Banks, Worried – Tash, P.O.V – dvsn
Lows:
- Can I just put it out there that flakey people are annoying AF.
- Do you ever just have a slight panic that you should be more successful than you are or that you’re not moving in the right direction? Had that full on this week which lead to some sleepless nights. Completely unnecessary, but you know 3AM is the perfect time to become super anxious and over think everything right? Ugh.
- Clingy people make my skin crawl. No exaggeration.
