If you didn’t already know this, I’m planning on moving back to Auckland in the New Year. The last time I lived there I ended up selling everything I had in preparation for my big OE throughout Europe. Now I have no furniture and am starting fresh. I stumbled upon Koala mattresses a while back and I thought the concept was awesome, especially for those that don’t have a lot of people to help them move.
Right before I flew to Auckland I ordered my Koala mattress online and planned a day to have it delivered to my friend’s place. They’re 100% made in Australia, and it arrives compressed in a super convenient (and cutely illustrated) box. You can easily move it to where you need it without the hassle of squeezing through door frames – we all know how annoying that can be.
After you pick a spot it’s the easiest thing to set up, you just have to pull the mattress out and wait for it to inflate. Koala mattresses are made up of an exclusive blend of foams that no other brand uses. This makes them super comfortable. They’re also really affordable because they don’t have the mark-up that retail stores have and every customer gets a 120 night trial, so you can literally sleep test it to decide if it’s right for you. Plus, every customer gets a full 10-year warranty so you know it’s a good investment.
I also want to make a special mention to the coolest thing that Koala does because I’m such an animal lover: for every purchase they adopt a kiwi in New Zealand and donate a portion of the profits to WWF. I think it’s such an awesome way to give back and totally swayed my decision to buy a Koala mattress. Special shout out also to Caitlin for helping me set it up and lending me her model dogs – they clearly are enjoying it!
