I can’t believe we are already in May. There’s a definite chill in the air and the sun is starting to set by the time I get home. I love autumn but this just feels like we dipped into winter long before it was due. I’m dealing with some weather induced PTSD. Everyone around me seems to be feeling it too: ramped appetite, dampened mood or rolling into social hibernation. Does anyone actually look forward to this time of year?
It’s kind of crazy how fast time has gone this year – especially since tomorrow is my one year anniversary at my day job. It feels like I’m still the newbie at work some days. Other days it feels like I’ve been there forever. I’m kind of proud that I’ve made it a full year here since I haven’t stayed in one place longer than that since university. This girl loves change as you’d know, but it’s nice to now feel like I have a home.

One thing I do enjoy about this time of the year is online shopping from the comfort of my bed. AKA my blogging office. Cue 100x parcels arriving at work over the past two weeks. There is just no way that my cute and tiny summer tops could be worn in winter. Fripple 24/7 = no thank you.
I’ve basically had to repurchase my entire ‘capsule wardrobe’ again. Think basic white tees, long sleeves and general layering pieces. One of the best re-discoveries of my online shopping (addiction) is ASOS. At university I used to buy 100% of my clothing from there. Lately, I’ve barely given it a second thought. Never again will I underestimate the power of ASOS though after this particular shop. I bought an entire outfit for less than $100 NZD including jeans, this top, earrings and boots. If you’re not familiar with New Zealand pricing – that’s unheard of.
So basically this post is just a PSA: ASOS is amazing. You can buy absolutely anything you want on there. I ordered on a Friday and got my parcel the next Wednesday which I was particularly impressed with. Plus the quality is so much more consistent than other cheaper online shops like PrettyLittleThing etc. I know a lot of people get overwhelmed with the amount of product on site, so here are my tips. ASOS Design, Weekday, Monki are my first searches when I browse the site. Then I move on to the ‘stylist’ collections since they curate shopping boards to fit their style. Lastly, check the suggested items at the bottom of each item. This is a pro-tip if you want a similar style at a cheaper price point.
Sorry not sorry if I am your shopping enabler. Be happy, shop freely from the comfort of your bed and let’s all try survive the winter (and another year) in style. Just kidding – you know I’m actually wearing sweatpants all winter long.
