If there’s something I’m into as much as fashion (say, what!?) then it would have to be make-up. I usually switch between investments – a new lipstick here, a silk skirt there, until I’ve blown my budget. Lately I’m back on a make-up bender, so this Tom Ford arrived in the mail right at the right time.
I have to start this off by saying that I’d never tried Tom Ford make-up before. I’ve always heard wonderful things, but I was always hesitant at the slightly higher price tag. I’m so glad I finally got to try it though *spoiler* these two products are so luxurious and some of the best products I’ve tried recently. If you’re looking to invest in some high quality products, look no further than Tom Ford, it’s da bomb. I really want to try their classic lip colours and eyeshadows next.
I tend to opt for pretty natural make-up on the daily. Some kind of bronzed cheek and natural lipstick and I’m ready to go. If I have some extra time I’ll usually put on a version of the Easy Sunkissed Make-Up I posted about a while back. But on a night out? Well that’s different.
1. Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Colour in Naked Bronze
My go-to night out look tends to be a bronzed smokey eye with a pale lip. I love the contrast between the two, making anything a little more edgy – even if you’re in the most girly dress. So it’s no surprise that when this Tom Ford duo showed up that I was an instant fan.
The Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Colour in Naked Bronze will 100% be making an appearance on my eyes this New Years Eve. The bottom layer is a soft cream that is extremely blendable whether you’re using your finger or a brush. I find you don’t need much since it glides on like a dream, creating the perfect base for your smokey eye. The top layer offers an almost gold foil type glitter than you can pack onto your base for a more dramatic, party eye.
Honestly, if there’s one product you buy for New Years Eve make-up look it has to be this! Especially if you have blue eyes. The contrast is beautiful and I feel like it’s a sparkly eye that offers something for everyone. Even those that tend to stick to matte shades only. I’m obsessed!
2. Tom Ford Ultra-shine Lip Colour in Bare
For the daring, the Tom Ford Ultra-shine Lip Colour in Bare packs some punch. Firstly, the formula is really creamy and has tiny gold reflects. It feels super comfortable on the lips without sinking into the cracks (even on my dry AF lips). But what I really love about this lipstick is the colour. It’s a natural, very light coloured nude which looks slight taupe on my skin colour. I think the contrast of it worn with the bronze eye makes for a high fashion look – kind of rock and roll even.
Overall this duo would be my choice for your New Years Eve make-up. The combination of the two with a slinky, black evening dress and heels is what I plan to wear for the night and I can’t wait. There’s nothing like getting dressed up with your make-up done to ring in the New Year!
