Back with another installment of “Worth The Hype” and this time it’s the skin care brand Salt By Hendrix. Hailing from Australia, Salt By Hendrix is a relatively new skin care label but it has been getting some serious hype online.
If you’re a Instagram/design junkie like myself you will have definitely seen this label around because of it’s packaging. Known for their minimal design and gorgeous floral details (and I mean literally there are roses in the bottles), there is no doubt that this is a favourite of mine to showcase throughout my room. But, is it worth the hype? Here are my thoughts.
If you want to read the previous Worth The Hype post you can find here.
BOTANICAL FACIAL SERUM
First up is their Botanical Facial Serum. This contains “Kakadu plum as well as active ingredients to enhance the visual appearance of the skin.” Noticeably thinner than most of my serums (it feels like water on the skin) it absorbs quickly and would be fine for sensitive skin. I’m going to be honest and say that I have no idea if this does anything, but I love the smell and for that I am happy.
MATCHA FACE MASK
You heard me – Matcha is literally EVERYWHERE right now but this product is totally worth the hype. Matcha is packed full of antioxidants and this clarifying mask makes your skin feel great after without being over drying like some clay masks can be. This might actually be my favourite product so far from Salt by Hendrix and I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re in the market for a good face mask. My only negative about it would be that it comes as a powder and you have to add water to it to create the mask which I can almost never get right.
LIP GLOW – DOWNTOWN
This lip glow is the most unusual consistency in terms of lip balms but I really love it. It’s quiet hard in the container but melts into your lips when applied on the skin. I believe this might be because of the oils that are included in it kind of like when you have to melt coconut oil to be able to use – or I could totally be making that up. Regardless, I love this product and that’s coming from someone who rarely ever applies a balm to the lips. Also, I should mention that this shade has no real colour pay off.
BATH TEA – WHITE TEA + JASMINE
This product must be a popular one since I see it’s sold out online. This would be the best present for your mum, or any other woman in your family to be honest. Such a classic present, this rose bath soak is no joke. It’s strong and I can imagine it makes baths smell amazing with only a small amount of product. It comes as dried up flowers and other ingredients that you place in the muslin cloth and leave in soak in a hot bath – similar to that of making loose leaf tea. This one smells very fancy like a spa and I have to say, I really regret not bringing it up to Auckland with me now that I have a bath!
SALT SCENT – HER GYPSY HEART
The last product in my collection from Salt. This little roller ball perfume is absolutely gorgeous – this actually has flowers floating around inside it. If you’re a fan of rose scents this ones for you. Such a small product yet it packs a serious fragrant punch. This would make such a gorgeous gift – don’t you agree?
That brings me to the end of my collection from Salt by Hendrix and this review. I have to say, I’d probably by these for the packaging alone so it’s a nice bonus that the products are high quality and a reasonable price point.
IS IT WORTH THE HYPE? It’s a yes from me!
