Award-winning, clinically backed formulations, fun names and beautifully crafted packaging is just a few of the reasons why Sunday Riley have quickly gained cult status in the beauty industry. Beyond that, you only have to do a quick google search to see that the results justify the investment. From serums to SPF and moisturiser, there’s something for every skin type to try.
As someone that shamelessly reads too much about skincare, I knew I had to review the line to see it for myself. Back in December I finally caved and bought the highly-rated “Power Duo”, which consists of the Good Genes Serum and Luna Sleeping Night Oil. I’m always sceptical when something seems too good to be true, but it only took me one night of using this set to see why people love it. More on this later.
So, is Sunday Riley worth the hype and a big chunk of your savings? Let’s dive in.

Luna Sleeping Night Oil
I use this oil in conjunction with the Good Genes Serum on nights where my skin needs a little extra care, and I have to say, I’m so impressed. The first time I used these (like I said before), I was blown away. It’s not often I would say that after one use, but I woke up with fresh skin that I hadn’t seen in weeks. Maybe it was a fluke, I don’t know, but I’ve had it for months now and I still reach for it all the time. The only “bad” point I’ll make is that it can feel dry even though it’s an oil, but I’ve found this a common theme for all products that include blue tansy.
Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment
This serum is simply beautiful. It feels hydrating on your skin and does a superb job at lightly exfoliating. I have a feeling that is why I loved it so much after my first use. When my skin is on the drier side, I skip using my Luna Oil and just lather on this. It honestly is the best lactic acid serum I’ve ever tried for my skin type.
A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum
The newest in my rotation of Sunday Riley products, but so far, the results are promising. I have had a love-hate relationship with retinol. The thing with retinol and retinoids is that you have to be dedicated to using them regularly to see the best results, which I’m so bad at being. This formula is stronger than what I’ve previously tried and after using it for the past couple of weeks I can already tell that my skin’s overall complexion is more balanced, for lack of a better word. The pigmentation around my cheeks has definitely faded and I’m excited to see how much better it can get using this. I’m promise I’m dedicated to it now.
C.E.O Glow Face Oil
I’ve never met a Vitamin C serum I didn’t love. Now, that goes for oil too. I can’t fault this product, it does everything it promises. Vibrant skin? Big check. I recommend Vitamin C products to absolutely everyone. Sometimes I feel like it’s the forgotten child of skincare since it doesn’t focus on blemishes, pigmentation etc. but it’s THE essential in my routine. I love that this product is an oil consistency too because my dry skin soaks it up. Just pure love over here.
C.E.O Glow Face Oil
Hello hydration! Meet my dry skin. I can be really fickle with it comes to face oils. I usually love them when I first try them and quickly end up giving them away. There’s a fine balance between nourishing and oily, and that’s one that Sunday Riley has nailed. I’m a huge advocate for using face oils at night which I know a lot of people shy away from. If you have dry skin this is worth a shot, I promise. It’s truely beautiful, and it gives my favourite Herbivore Botanicals Orchid oil a serious run for its money.
UFO Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil
Without a doubt, the most gushed over product from Sunday Riley. The UFO Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil is one of my favourite products to tackle breakouts. Made with 1.5% salicylic acid, this really does an amazing job at clearing up your skin. It also includes tea tree and liquorice to tackle hyperpigmentation and inflammation. I have heard this can cause your skin to purge but I haven’t had an issue with this. The only thing I will mention is that it has an unusual smell to it. It’s an award-winning product for a reason, trust me on this.
Is Sunday Riley worth the hype?
You can probably tell from this feedback that 100%, I think it is. It definitely can be an investment with many products priced at $100+. the best thing about Sunday Riley is that they offer so many minis packs so you can muddle your way through the range. I’d start there annd discover what works best for your skin. I’d highly recommend to someone that can’t be bothered spending a lot of time reading about all the different ingredients. Just dive in at the top end.
A lot of these products were kindly gifted for review by Sunday Riley and you can purchase them at Mecca Beauty.
