There’s a certain kind of peace that comes with the crash of waves. For most of the summer now I’ve been chasing that in between the daily chaos. Luckily for me, sometimes work overlaps with the beach, like it did on this particular day in Orewa. Sophie and I headed out after work to meet Joanne to shoot at her favourites local spots.
If you haven’t been to Orewa you need to put it on your list. It’s 30 minutes north of Auckland and feels like a true New Zealand country town surrounded by lush bush and the beach. The sun lingers long into the evening, along with the heat, so it’s a great place to visit the ocean after work. As soon as Sophie and I wrapped on this shoot we got changed and went for a last-minute dip. The perfect way to end one of my favourite days this summer so far.
