It feels like Autumn. The days are slowly getting shorter, and the temperature doesn’t have the kick is usually would mid-afternoon. I have picked up more leaves blowing into our house this week, than in total the past three months. While I’m anticipating a very stressful long winter of trying to shoot only on weekends and lunchtimes, I am looking forward to pulling back out the longer layers. Got to love a bit of variety.

I know my Dad doesn’t agree with this statement but I think we should all spend money on what we want – even clothes. In my case, I can always justify spending more since I am a *fashion* blogger but I still feel the post-purchase guilt. I don’t think we ever really learn to enjoy our money. Whether it’s a generational thing since we can’t walk in and buy a home for 80,000 anymore (thanks baby boomers), it feels like we have to squirrel away every cent and hold on to it until we die. Too dramatic? Either way, I know I feel a lot of guilt whenever I buy anything expensive, which is probably why my car search is still on hold.
I call this look “I got bored, spent my savings and now all I have is this outfit”. This exact Aje Resort 2020 debuted back in May on the runway, and for whatever reason, in December I was hunting it down. After a few hours, many back-and-forward emails and two countries later I managed to find and order the entire outfit. Dedication is key: to life and online shopping.
I have no regrets (even after I had to push pause on looking for a car until my account recuperated). Sometimes I think you’ve got to go with your gutt feeling no matter how ridiculous the craving is. Wine at 11 am, a game of pool at 1 am or a $500 outfit hunt on Christmas day. At least I learnt a valuable life lesson this day: if I ever want to change careers I would have a pretty good shot at being a detective – that search was no easy task.

Love the look. Did you size up in the shorts for an oversized look, or is the style oversized?
Thank you! It’s the style of the shorts, these are my normal size 🙂
hi may i ask for your waist size and the size of shorts you got? i am usually between 25-26” and am contemplating between size 6 and 8 now. thanks!
Hey I’d say go smaller, these fit quite big so a 6 would be perfect! x
