If you didn’t know, I still work full time during the day as well as blogging. This week, my day job has been kicking my butt. Maybe not necessarily in the fast pace, heavy lifting type of way I used to have. But certainly in the “my mind does not stop” way. So what I’m trying to say here is that by the time I made it home tonight I was pretty much ready to pass out. Mentally drained is definitely harder for me to deal with than physically. I think it has something to do with the fact that I’m terrible at sitting still.
The cooler it gets outside, the more I find myself gravitating to “I am comfy, let me eat” clothing. AKA this outfit. There’s something so very kiwi about big baggy layers and while it’s not probably going to garner any wolf whistling, it sure as hell looks cool regardless. At least that’s what I keep telling myself to make it okay. Come winter time my goal is to be so layered I resemble the shape of a sheep and be warm AF 24/7. Go big or go home, right?
I bought this skirt one weekend when I was feeling particularly “spendy”. While normal people clean out their wardrobes with the change of seasons, apparently I fill mine up. I love the colours and the velvet feel. It is just one of those pieces I know I’m going to wear all Autumn, a long with this white baby-cord shirt I actually haven’t stopped wearing. It’s kind of unhealthy.
It has already been weeks since I went back to my hometown for a mini-getaway. Honestly, where is the time going!? I feel like I’m in some Matrix situation half the time, just watching days fly past me while I stand still. Anyway, these photos were taken back while I was there. If you ever wondered whether I care when people see me taking photos on the street – this is the only place that makes me cringe, haha. There’s something about people that have watched you grow up having no idea what you’re doing that makes it just that little bit too embarrassing for comfort.
