If there’s one thing I struggle with in winter, it’s keeping my skin dewy. As soon as the sun starts setting at 5 pm, you know my face is feeling crusty. While I can keep it at bay with a plethora of serums, I can never replicate that sun-sweaty-glow I took for granted during summer. That is why when I made this post I knew it had to be featuring products that emulated that while remedying skin that hasn’t enjoyed natural moisture in months.
Mecca helped me out by sending me some of their favourite sun-kissed products that are weather appropriate. If there’s anything you take away from this post, it’s this – BUY Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick right now. It’s an instant hit of dew without looking greasy, and it wears so well over or under powder products. Plus, they’re cruelty-free. I love the idea of covering my face in cream products, but when push really does shove (we all know what a mess it makes in a hot club) this is your happy medium.
On My Face:
Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick
Nars Summer Solstice Cheek Duo
Urban Decay Peach Bloom Color Changing Lip Balm in Lilac Nude
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Liquid Foundation
Tom Ford Blush in Love Lust
I’m going to be honest and say that I trust Mecca girls for recommendations blindly. I might be a little bias since one of my best friends used to work there, but I can promise you they’ve never lead me astray. For this reason, I jumped right in with the new Nars Summer Solstice Cheek Duo. A highlighter duo that looks just as beautiful on the skin as it does on your shelf. Absolute win, as you can tell. More natural than I expected, but it gives you that skin kissed finish that I’d pay top dollar for. As someone that can’t be bothered shaving my legs, let alone tanning, it’s a product that hides my pale skin well. Put your best face forward as they say.
The last absolute win in this post is the Urban Decay Peach Bloom Color Changing Lip Balm in Lilac Nude. We get it, I’m lazy, and when it comes to my lips the less maintenance, the better. As much as I’d love to apply a full lip liner and lipstick combo, I know well as soon as I leave the house, followed by a drink, I couldn’t trust myself to not end up with clown lips. This is the best happy medium because it’s a tinted lip balm that you can apply carelessly (Read: drunk) and still looks amazing. It’s super hydrating too.
On that note, I hope you enjoyed this look. I’ve been enjoying make-up much more than shock horror fashion lately because I’ve never been so unmotivated to leave my house or do anything really. Winter hibernation is a thing. Why dress up when you’re only expected to be in loungewear? I’ll never know. I have the 21st of June marked in my calendar and beauty will be taking a front seat until then. So, if you’re wanting me to give a look a go, leave it in the comments below. I’ll serve up the goods.
