We’re back with another skincare review. This time, I’m seeing if U Beauty lives up to it’s hype.
I believe my skincare regimen comes before anything. Clothes, make-up and even, hair care. There’s nothing better than being able to run out of the house with a fresh face in minimal time. Lately, I’ve been on the hunt for a new and reliable skincare brand that can take care of my deeply dehydrated skin through the coming summer. Made from clean high-performing formulas, U Beauty is packed full of all the great ingredients your skin craves, without having to buy seperate products for each. Think AHA, BHA, vitamin C and more. It’s a skincare line aimed for those of you (READ: 90% of my social media feed right now) who want to optimise your daily skincare routine. But better than that, and according to the reviews online, it truly delivers in results. So, what did I think? Let’s get into it.
Before I start here’s a little bit of back story. U Beauty is a high-end skincare line created by influencer Tina Craig of Bag Snob, and her friend Katie Borghese in 2019, just before the pandemic took over. Since then, they’ve grown the brand to be loved by many, with their products being sold at luxury retailers like Bloomingdale’s (which I where I picked up these pieces I have to review today).
The line combines luxury ingredients with beautiful packaging and has won a lot of praise online. I decided to try three of most loved U Beauty products: The Plasma Lip Compound, The Resurfacing Compound and The Super Hydrator.
Plasma Lip Compound
First up is The Plasma Lip Compound, a lip treatment designed to hydrate, plump, and define the lips. Formulated with a blend of antioxidants, peptides, and ceramides, as well as AHA + PHA, this lip treatment has everything you need to bring your lips back to life. But, does it work? Well I’ll start by saying, I’m probably the best type of person to review this product honestly. I have the worst chapped lips, and they’ve only been getting dryer as the temperatures rise here.
Right off the bat, I knew I was going to love this product. The applicator has a cooling metal tip and feels luxurious to apply. From there, it only got better. This is a beautiful product – it’s thick and hydrating, but not sticky. It has a pretty pink tint and gorgeous shine that instantly makes your lips look healthier. What really sets this product apart though is the way it works with my eczema prone lips. It doesn’t cling, I don’t react and even now, after applying it hours ago, my lips feel really hydrated. A big win in my book.
The Super Hydrator
The Super Hydrator was the product I was most excited to try because I really am dryer than the Sahara. Basically, it’s a luxurious moisturiser designed to provide intense hydration and nourishment to the skin. It’s made with U Beauty’s HYDRA-SIREN Capsule technology, and formulated with five types of hyaluronic acid, as well as nourishing organic oils like argan and avocado. A perfect ingredient combination, if you ask me.
So, how did it compare? The texture is rich yet non-greasy, and it leaves the skin feeling soft, supple, and deeply hydrated. I use this at night mostly over top of the Resurfacing Compound and wake up with healthy, glowing skin. The biggest difference I found though, was the lack of fine lines I woke up with in the morning. This has been an on-going problem for me and it’s great to finally find a product that hydrates throughout the entire night.
Resurfacing Compound
Lastly, is the product that has built a cult following online: U Beauty’s Resurfacing Compound. Let me tell you, this product packs some serious punch! It’s a multitasking serum that aims to brighten, tighten, and resurface the skin. It contains a blend of AHAs, retinol, peptides, antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid, which work together to exfoliate, hydrate, and protect the skin. It’s meant to replace up to 6 products in your skincare routine, and isn’t hard to see why.
I should start by saying it’s worth every dollar. To help ease your financial pain, I’ll also mention that you really don’t need much – maybe half a pump if that to cover your face. It took less than a week of using this to see the results. I wake up glowing, my skin is clearer than ever, I have less texture and it’s SO soft. Overall if you’re looking for natural radiance (with a little help), this should be number one on your list. I now officially get the hype.
So, it U Beauty worth the price? Absolutely. It’s rare to find a new beauty brand that delivers on their high promises. Even more so, if you want to cut your skincare routine down into a few easy steps. These products do everything they say and more – taking the guess work out of caring for your skin.
