It’s been a while since I’ve written a style post about one of my favourite bloggers, so I thought what better way to return to blogging than covering one of my all-time style crushes: Matilda Djerf. Matilda is the epitome of casual romantic cool. Whether she’s wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or a floral dress, she’s nailed her personal style in a way that’s enviable to an indecisive girl like myself.
I first discovered Matilda years ago when she was travelling with her boyfriend (and personal photographer) through Bali, and ever since then, she’s made up 90% of my Pinterest feed. I had the pleasure of talking to her when I used to work in Australia, and in case you’re curious, she’s as nice of a person as she sounds in her posts. I think that interaction alone solidified my love for everything she does. It’s no wonder I am constantly looking for pieces to buy from her personal fashion brand Djerf Avenue.
If you’re anything like me, and you love Matilda’s casual cool style, then keep reading for some tips on how to get her look for less.
Matilda Djerf Looks For Less
Beige Blazer & White Knit Dress
One of my favourite looks from Matilda Djerf – the perfect outfit for transitioning from summer to fall. The whole outfit is made with 5 pieces, including a beige blazer layered over a summer white knit dress and beige Tony Bianco boots. I own these boots myself and I have to say, they’re extremely comfy and 100% worth the splurge.

You probably already own a black trousers, white oversized shirt and bandeau top making this an easy one to put together. Chuck on some platform flip-flops and you’re ready to go.

White Knit Bandeau + Skirt Set
Summer sets are back for another season. Summertime is the perfect season to break out the simple knitwear and Matilda definitely has the right idea with this casual and chic knit bandeau top and matching skirt. It’s effortless, and can be dressed up with heels or down with sneakers depending on the occasion.

Earthy Toned Outfit
Matilda is known for her unique sense of style, and one way she achieves this is by adding fun and quirky accessories to her looks. Think statement earrings, retro sunglasses, and colourful handbags. If you want to emulate this, make sure that you keep everything in the same colour range, such as this outfit that features earth tones.
Shop The Look:
Pink Mini Dress + Yellow Heels
Another piece I already own is this Bec & Bridge dress, and it’s another that’s worth the splurge. Matilda always selects pieces that are well made, and this one is no different. Double lined, simple shape and beautiful colour. While I think the yellow heels are a perfect addition, you could easily get away with sneakers if you wanted to wear this outfit day-to-day.
Shop The Look:
Easy Cottagecore Dress
For all you Cottage-core lovers, this outfit is for you. This For Love & Lemons white dress is perfect for summer picnics and weekends away. The best part? You don’t need to overthink the accessories – it’s a look all on it’s own.
Shop The Look:
All Black Suit + Chunky Boots
A casual style essential, black suit pants and a matching blazer is the perfect way to get Matilda Djerf’s ‘It’ girl style. The chunky black boots gives it her signature ‘Scandi’ look and I love that she doesn’t have a top layered underneath. Effortlessly cool.
Shop The Look:
Classic LBD + Platform Heels
One of Matilda’s more classy styles, this is another easy one to recreate with any LBD you have. If you read my previous 2022 fashion trends post you’ll know that chunky platform heels are everywhere right now, making them easy to source for this look. She keeps it classy with a slick back bun and minimal jewellery.
Shop The Look:
White Oversized Shirt + Satin Pants
If you’re bored of your usual trousers, these satin pants are a great way to step your fashion up. Paired with an oversized white shirt and a bright coloured hand bag, and you’re ready to go.
Shop The Look:
White Singlet + Leather Trousers
You’ll notice that a lot of Matilda’s looks are based on a neutral colour palette. This allows her to mix and match different pieces without looking too busy or cluttered. Another way to get some wear out of platform heels is with a simple look like this. Pair a white singlet with leather pants and a simple handbag. If you want to add some more *spice*, make sure to layer simple gold jewellery.
Shop The Look:
Boucle Trousers + Knit Top
I love boucle, for furniture and now, pants. This is probably the most relaxed outfit of Matilda’s I’ve covered today – featuring boucle pants and a simple knit top. If you work from home like me, this is a great outfit to recreate if you want to feel like you’ve put in some effort.
Shop The Look:
Simple White Mini Dress
A little white dress for summer, is the equivalent of a LBD in winter. You need it, no questions asked. Add some simple gold hoops and sandals and you’re ready for a day at the beach.
